Training Services Brochure

Workforce offers more intensive and training services through Workforce Investment Act (WIA) services.  WIA services are administered in 3 “tiers”—Core, Intensive, and Training.  If you are unable to obtain employment by receiving services in one level, your Career Consultant will deliver services to you in the next tier and so on.  These services have been designed to assess you and move you closer to your employment goals.

WIA puts you in the driver’s seat, however your Career Consultant is right beside you each step of the way.  If it is determined you are in need of occupation skills training, Workforce may be able to invest in your career by supporting you in a Targeted Occupation program.  Other support services Workforce may offer qualified WIA participants include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Tools,
  • Uniforms, and
  • Certification and licensure costs.

To be eligible to receive WIA services, you must provide official documentation of the following:

  • At least age of 18,
  • A citizen of the United States or legal resident eligible to work in the US, AND
  • If a male born prior to 1960, proof of Selective Service registration.

Other documentation, such as household size and income may be required.  Your assigned Career Consultant will assist you in the eligibility and paperwork process.

Once you become employed after receiving WIA services, a Career Consultant will continue to follow-up with you for a year.  During this process, we encourage you to stay engaged with our office so we can assist you overcoming those hurdles that sometimes appear in the first year of employment.  We will continue to counsel with you as needed so you can retain and possibly improve your employment.

Workforce’s WIA services Department holds an orientation weekly. Contact Workforce to sign-up for a session.
